PRIVATE E.G. CATTERALL (Killed)
Mr and Mrs James B Catterall of 8 Heatley Street Blackburn formerly of 14 Granville Street Helmshore have received information from the war office that their son Private Edward G Catterall of the K.O.R. Lancaster Regiment has been killed in action.
At the time he enlisted Private Catterall was emploted as a cotton waste washer at Camm's Mill Helmshore. His platoon officer has written to his parents saying that Private Catterall was greatly liked by all his comrades and was always a cheerful and willing worker.
