Newspaper Report:

Mrs. Lord of Craven heifer, Haslingden, has now been officially informed that her husband, Private William Lord, who was reported missing May 27th 1918, is now presumed to have died on that date.  He previous to enlisting was a resident of Whitworth, where he attended the United Methodist Church, and his name is on the Roll of Honour there. He was 41 years of age.

In loving memory of my dear husband, Pte. William Lord (242383) East Lancs., reported missing May 27th, 1918, now presumed to have died on or since that date.

Always remembered by his wife, who resides at Craven Heifer, Haslingden.
