Another brave Haslingden weaver - he worked at Commercial Mill - has made the supreme sacrifice for King and country, offical news having been received by his father, Mr. Cochrane Taylor, of 7 Wells Street, Haslingden, that his son, Private Arnold Taylor, East Lancashire Regiment., and aged 24, had been killed in action in Mesopotamia on March 9th 1917.
The deceased also leaves a wife, whom he married in January 1916. She is a Crawshawbooth woman, and in the following month he joined up. In June, 1916, he went to the front. He was connected with Haslingden Congregational Sunday School.
