Newspaper Report:

One of the most popular men in Helmshore, where he was of much service in the direction of religion and politics, died on April 13th from wounds received in Mesopotamia a couple of months ago.
He was Pte. John Wm. Ashworth, formerly a weaver at Albion Mill, Helmshore, and he leaves a wife.  He was connected with Helmshore Wesleyan Church, was a teacher in the Sunday School, and a member of Helmshore Liberal Club.
The flags are at half-mast at the club and the mill.
