Newspaper Report:

Private Abraham Garnett, of the King's Own Rifles, lived at Flip Road, Haslingden, prior to enlisting.  He was in several battles in France, and has been missing since the battle of Ypres.  His wife received word from the War Office late week to say that Private Garnett "was dead or died since the battle of Ypres."  He had been connected with Haslingden Parish Church, and was highly respected in the town.

In loving memory of my dear Husband, Pte. Abraham Garnett, King's Own Royal Lancaster'
s, who was killed in action at Ypres, Belgium, May 8th 1915.
