A HASLINGDEN EMPLOYEES CASUALTY
News is to hand that Mr. William Jordan, formerly employed at Haslingden Cash Clothing Stores, has been killed in action. He was in the canteens originally.
His wife and child live at Manchester Road, Haslingden.
THE BURIAL OF A HASLINGDEN EMPLOYEE
Further news has been received by Mrs. Jordan of her husband, Pte. W.R. Jordan, Royal West Surrey Regiment, who, it now appears, died from wounds on October 16th 1917.
A cross containing his name has been erected to mark his grave in the Military Cemetery where he was buried.
He was employed at Haslingden Cash Clothing Stores before he joined the colours on January 7th, 1917.
