Newspaper Report:

Private James A. Horrobin, East Lancashire Regiment, son of Mr. James H. Horrobin, of Ratcliffe Street, Haslingden, was killed in action on October 21st 1917.
Twenty years of age, he enlisted on May 15th 1915, went to the front in November, 1915, was wounded on June 29th, 1916, and returned to the front in March, 1917.
His brother Walter is a Lance-Corporal in the Seaforth Highlanders.
Previous to enlisting the deceased worked in the warehouse at Messrs. Warburton's Mill, Syke Side, and is on Manchester Road Wesleyan roll of honour.
