Newspaper Report:
The death is announced of Private Gilbert Hopkins, Cheshire labour Battalion, at the age of 37, Formerly of Accrington he worked at Howard and Bulloughs, and afterwards at Darwen, from where he enlisted about three years ago.
He is survived by a wife who is a Haslingden woman, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. Street with whom she is residing at 249, Blackburn Road.
