FALLEN FOOTBALLER - The Late Private Jeremy Holden of 11 Flaxmoss Street, Haslingden, who fell in action with the Cheshire Regiment.

Newspaper Memorials:

In loving memory of my dear Husband, Private Jeremy Holden, who was killed in action on February 25th 1917, on the Peronne Front, France.

"I do not forget him, I loved him too dearly,
For his memory to fade from my life like a dream;
Lips seldom speak when the heart mourns sincerely,
And thoughts often dwell where they seldom are seen.
Those who have loved and lost,
Know the meaning of Death."

Fondly remembered by his Wife Sarah, 11 Flaxmoss Street, Haslingden.

"One year has passed, oh, how we miss him,
Friends may think the wound is healed,
But they little know the sorrow,
Deep within our hearts concealed.

Forget him, no, we never will,
For in our hearts he liveth still;
His memory is as fresh to-day,
As in the hour he passed away."

From his sorrowing Father, Sisters and Brother.

"He left his home in perfect health,
He looked so young and brave;
We little thought how soon he would,
Be laid in a hero's grave.

Far from all who loved him dearly,
In a hero's grave he lies;
Duty called, he nobly answered,
Did his duty till he died."

From his Father and Mother in law and Family
