Newspaper Report:

Driver R. Hardman, of the R,.F.A., who prior to his marriage resided at Back Bank Street, Rawtenstall, and was well known in the town, has been killed in action.
The information has come to his wife, Mrs. Hardman, 34 Poplar Street, Longshoot, Haslingden, in letters from the Major and the Chaplain of the Brigade.  He was killed on the 7th of May, whilst getting the horses away under shell fire, and lies, as stated in the Chaplain's letter, in a military cemetery close to where he was killed, along with five comrades who were killed with him.
