Private Joseph Rennie, whose home was at Height End, Haslingden was interred with military honours at Haslingden cemetery on Monday. Thirty five years of age, deceased was single and formerly a spinner at John Warburton's Sykeside Mill. He joined up about eighteen months ago and was for a time at Preston, whence he was transferred to Squire's Gate, Blackpool, where he died. He was formerly connected with Trinity Baptist Chapel. At the funeral the Last Post was sounded by Sergeant Carter, and the Rev. T.M. Johnson, C.F., officiated. Mr. J. Lord was the undertaker.
