Shell Shock - Haslingden Private in hospital at Rouen.
Private Francis Neaves who's Aunt and brothers live at 21 George Street Haslingden is in a hospital in Rouen suffering from shell shock as the result of having been partly buried following the bursting of a shell on October 8th 1917.
He has been at the front for 18 months and is on the United Irish League roll of honour.
