ANOTHER WINDING MASTER - DEATH PRESUMED OF PTE. T. WILLIAMS OF HASLINGDEN.
The death in action on May 31st 1917, when he was reported missing, is now presumed of Pte Thomas Williams, East Lancashire Regt., whose wife and two children lived till recently at Clough End View, Haslingden. His parents are dead, and his father was for many years spinning-master at Carr Mill, Haslingden.
When he joined up in October, 1916, the deceased was winding master at Plantation Mill, Haslingden and he went to the front in the Spring of 1917.
He was 40 years of age, attended the Wesley Chapoel, Blackburn Road, Haslingden, and for several years was on the committee of Haslingden Working Men's Club.
